Threats of first week
hi all,
Writing in a blog or in any where is a too complicated thing for me. But I am writing this blog not only for you guys but for my self too.
First time in IT I found my self in a trouble and this trouble is for what...A job. I had faced total four interviews for getting my first job. I was not able to clear the interview section in the successive companies. At last I got the success in Accenture.
So now I told some tips (Actually fattes...It may help u guys) and share my experiences in different interview sections.
CTS:- hmm...as we know it is a M.R.(mass recruiting) company so i was not worried about this cause this year they were coming to take approx 250 students but at last they settled with 192(including others).
What they asked to me and what I reply s in front of you:-
Hello Vijay, take your seat.
Thank you sir.
cts:-tell me about your self.
Me:-typical answer.
cts:-ok Vijay solve this problem.
Me:-yes sir and it was very simple problem of relative motion, and I done it.
cts:-what is your subject of interest.
Me:-manufacturing engineering.
cts:-tell me about powder metal.
Me :-( little bit confuse) powder metal sir.
cts:-yes
Me:-told him about cvd ad pvd process.
cts:-not fully satisfied with my answers.
cts:-do you know about rake angle.
Me:-described briefly.
cts:-negative rake angle??
Me:-tried hard but not able to explain as his face expression showing.
cts:-again a puzzle.
Me:-not able to solve.
cts:-ok Vijay thanks.
Me:-thanks a lot sir.
Result:-unsuccessful
IBM: I was one of them who were selected after gd (only 86).finally they recruited only 53.
After interview I realized that I just kick off the IBM.
ibm:-how are you doing Vijay?
Me:-fine sir.
ibm:-are you tired?
Me:-no sir.
ibm:-no or yes it doesn't matter, you have to go through this process.
Me:-smile.
ibm:-tell me about your self.
Me:-typical answer.
ibm:-he gave me two puzzles.
Me:-i had done it nicely.
ibm:-what is your subject of interest.
Me:-manufacturing engineering.
I was just shocked they are not asking any question from manufacturing engineering.
ibm:-tell me about your project on elastic memory composites.
Me:-explain in brief.
ibm:-do you ever heard about cryogenic?
Me:-no (not with confidence)
ibm:-now second person starts and asking about my project.
Me:-I brief him.
ibm:-no i want where this is used and how they works.
Me:- i have not much interest in this subject. I am good in manufacturing.
ibm:-laws of thermodynamics.
Me:-told them.
ibm:- differentiate between CI and SI engine.
Me:-again no (damn shit, that I do not expect from my self.)
ibm:-ok so let him go.
ibm:-hmm..Ok.
ibm:-so Mr. Vijay thanks a lot.
Me:-thank you sir.
Result I already know although it come around 5 am in the morning. but I know in the night myself.
TCS:-color blindness, not eligible.
Due to this i was to tensed.
WIPRO:-
hush... first a written test...if team work didn't able to get success that day than certainly I was not in the interview part.(thanks to AGP,ARORA,TARUN,GOPAL,PUNEET,CHANDU)
So interview part was as following …
wipro: take your seat.(although interview was mine but it seems that I was going to take his interview. he was too worried)
Me: thank you
wipro: what is your favorite subject?
Me: manufacturing engineering.
wipro:hmm...and..
Me: I.C.Engine (after getting unsuccessful in the IBM I read enough about IC engine)---dekha meri learning skills.
wipro: what about thermodynamics??
Me: I am not comfortable with that.
wipro: hmm...k
wipro:(after giving a lot of pressure to his head, and playing with his hairs) tell me about the laws of thermodynamics.
Me: bla bla...
wipro: what about c?
Me: (tried hard to change the topic of discussion but...)
wipro: write down a program of array?
Me: tried hard and finally done it, but there is an error in the program.
wipro: asked me about malloc function?
Me: again tried to satisfy him by giving fattes.. But nothing works.
wipro: you people have enough time to read.
Me: I participated in different extracurricular activities.
wipro: I know.
Me: sir I need time to improve my c knowledge and till the date of joining I make my self good enough in c and cpp both.
wipro: so go and read.
wipro: thank you.
So after three such failures, I just fed up with all these companies but I decided that now nothing matters to me. Just read and read.
In ACCENTURE, I was partially covered with my dummies. But VIRAT (tronix alumni) done a great work and during the exam he take out all the dummies. But god is with me that day and my luck shines and without help of dummies I got selected in written.
In GD...Love marriage v/s arrange marriage. My favorite one. I easily cleared gd.
TECH interview:
accenture:-so Vijay you are in mechanical engineering.
Me: yes sir.
acc:what subject u like most?
Me: manufacturing engineering.
acc: tell me about powder metallurgy.
Me: I explained him briefly.
acc: about cladding.
Me: I know exact definition but not able to express so he corrected me.
acc: am I write.
Me: yes sir.
acc: why? Cause I am from accenture?
Me: no sir, I know the answer but not able to express.
acc: ok Vijay tell me why you want to join accenture..
Me: cause accenture is a good...
acc: abe good choro yaar..kuch alag batao..
Me: in accenture you can shift...
acc: ohh you are going to shift after joining our company.
Me: no sir, actually after joining in your company I can change my work profile too.
acc: this is the real answer?
Me: yes sir.
acc: sure
Me: yes sir.
acc: than he asked a lot of question related to mechanical department, about teachers, what they are teaching to us and bala..
acc: ok Vijay thanks a lot.
Me: thank you sir.
When I came out I asked to take a seat, and with in a minute asked to wait outside for hr interview.
HR interview:
A nice girl was there for taking mine interview.
With smile I entered in the room.
acc: how are you doing?
Me: fine.
acc: so Vijay tell me about yourself.
Me: bala ..bala..
acc: asked me about my project my capabilities and lot of other things.
acc: different questions related to relocation, job offer and documents verification etc.
acc: ok Vijay. thanks a lot.
Me: thank you mam.
I know after these interviews that i will be selected today. And finally I was in the last 13...ocean thirteen. :D
